Those druids are overpowered. As well as all the ones who pvp'd pre-3.0
Hmph
All classes where OP in one way or another. Pallies where OP at single target healing, Priests where OP in mana rejuvenation, Rogues where OP in melee dps, Warrior tanks where OP vs Illidan. See where I'm going with this? There's an optimal venue where each class is "best" at a certain thing. Druids where "best" at 2v2. The reason for the mentality is you can have a rivalry in pve, but in pvp you are actively trying to kill each other, so emotions run a little deeper. And since 2v2 was one of the most played small scale pvp, everyone thinks of druids being OP because that was where they where optimal, small scale pvp.
'OP' in pve, if there is even such a thing, is an entirely different matter. And you seem to be vaguely suggesting that druids were good at one thing and useless at everything else (like holy pallies). They were not. They were amazingly overpowered in 2v2 and 3v3, pretty good in 5v5, and for that matter pretty good in pve. They monopolized every bit of pvp that 'actually mattered.' And it's silly to say that there is a place where each class excels, because that's not true. Where exactly did mages excel pre-3.0? They weren't top raid dps, and they had two noteworthy arena comps, both of which were generally fodder for comps with druids on them.
We've had this discussion many times in the past. And no one even complains about druids anymore since 3.0, so I dunno why it was brought back up, really. The new focus of OP is ret pallies and arcane mages.
I'm just saying, you can't declare a class OP because of where it's "Best" at. Or was, for that matter. And I still see plenty of discussion about druids being OP.
Do I want to delete this thread? Yes I do.
