Melee DPS
Any of our melee dps that does not have shard of contempt from heroic magister's should get it. Expertise is HUGE in the way of how much damage you do. For the combat rogues the shard puts you very close to the expertise cap, if you have vashj's belt to go with it, you are cap'd, what this means is 0 (yes ZERO) percent chance for ANY and ALL of your attacks to be dodged. This means absolutely no missed interrupts unless of course you are in front of the boss/mob and get parried (since parry expertise cap is stupid high). This trinket should be a priority over any others, and you have to think of the expertise as a better hit rating, yes Ruhe you may lose 21 hit from WSC, but in turn you are no longer able to be dodged, so that attack you might have had a dodge on, now hits and gives the same affect (but moreso) than the 21 hit you lost, and the 230 ap proc is going to help a lot. DPS warriors, same deal, with the shard and another piece of expertise gear (namely vashj's belt again or T6 belt when we get there) you are cap'd. Now since we dont have vashj's belt and probably wont get it, the shard and our 2% reduced dodge talent give our attacks only a 1.7% chance to be dodged down from 4.5% from just the talent, this is again a huge dps increase, and why you need to grab one really badly Morrin :) Enh shaman, with shard of contempt your dodge chance is 2.2% down from 5%, again this is a huge dps boost because more of your attacks are acutally hitting the mobs/bosses. In your case stem, i'd get rid of the bloodlust brooch and replace it with shard since the shadowsong panther is a better trinket than bloodlust. This means more hits with WF, SS and your white hits, on Teron last night you had 2 WF's and 3 SS's dodged, now with SS haviong a 10 second cooldown, it is a huge dps loss to have this dodged, the shard would probably have reduced this to 1, or maybe even none, i have a LOT of fights where i have no dodges on a lot of my abilities and that is a huge dps gain over having 90 extra ap (berserkers call) and having those attacks be dodged. For instance, i had 0 dodges on whirlwind, execute and heroic strike (and ww hits with both weps, 2 chances to be dodged) you have a .5% higher chance to be dodged, but this shouldn't make much of a difference. Now, that on top of the 230ap proc that lasts 20 seconds, and procs very often, is a very good trinket, if not the best trinket in slot for every single melee class. I do know it is best in slot for dps warriors and rogues, and I believe it also is best in slot for enh shamans. Basically, expertise is THE best stat in WoW for melee dps classes at the current time, even moreso than armor penetration. Any time any of you want to run heroic magisters to get this and im on, let me know i'll help with my rogue for cc, or talli for dps, either way. But I do feel that having this would increase your dps by a much higher amount than the trinkets currently inhabiting its space. As for the question "well does it proc enough to replace my 2 min cd trinket" the answer is YES, normally this thing procs enough to have the 230ap buff for half of every boss fight, sometimes it is a little lower, but i have it up for at least 50% of the time of every boss fight at least 90% of the time, so a 4 minute fight, you have 2 minutes of 230 extra ap, where as your 2 min cd trinket would be 40 seconds of the extra ap.
