Kesian - Resto Shaman
1) Character name: Kesian 2) Class/Spec: Resto Shaman 3) Race: Draenie 4) Current server (transfers are welcome, but let's talk first): Kul Tiras 5) Link to Armory profile, and explanation of anything that may not be readily apparent from your Armory profile (alternate sets of gear, currently PvP-specced, etc.) If you want us to take your Armory seriously, wear your best PvE gear: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Kul+Tiras&n=Kesian I have not been in a raiding guild for a while now (I didn’t have an opportunity to play wow while treeplanting) so I have strayed away from my traditional PvE raiding spec. I took some time to build my elemental PvE and PvP sets of gear as well. Lately I have been changing my specs frequently (which would change if I joined a serious raiding guild). What I will do is make a serious effort to log out in my best PvE healing gear so you can see what I have. 6) List of any serious alts you have (A serious alt is a potential raiding alt): N/A 7) What are your usual playing hours? Are there days/times when you are consistently unavailable? What time zone are you in?: I am usually available mornings, evenings and sometime late into the night. I try and keep my mid day active outside the house and away from things like WoW. Regarding server time, I am likely to be playing between the hours 10am - 2pm and and 7pm - 1pm server time. Keep in mind that I am in the Pacific tiem zone, and my actual time is two hours behind server. I understand that the total range of my play time includes a total of 8 hours a day, which is enough to have it seem like a full time job; however, I want to clarify that I will not be spending a minimum of 8 hours a day on wow, but these are the hour brackets from which I will be most available on any given day of the week. 8.) List the last two raiding guilds you were in, with an explanation of how and why you joined and left those guilds. In particular, why do you want to leave your current guild? The Nightblades: I joined The Nightblades almost the same way I joined WoW. My roommate got me started in WoW, and he also got me started in The Nightblades. I joined the Nightblades just prior to turning 70 in anticipation that I would join them as a Resto Shaman. Resto was an obvious choice for me for several reasons: I enjoyed the healing roll for one; The Nightblades needed a full-time Resto shaman. I was with the Nightblades for approx 6-7 months before moving to my next guild: Judgment. The Nightblades had dismantled. All of the veteran guild members found places in successful raiding guilds. I moved to Judgment. Judgment: I joined Judgment in expectation that I would see more raiding content than I had with the Nightblades. This expectation was met. While I was with Judgment the guild mostly raided SSC and TK. The odd ZA or Mag run occured, but SSC and TK were the main focus. My stay with Judgment did not last long. I was with judgment for approximately 1 month. Unfortunately, the GM and assistant GM decided to cancel their subscriptions; they had had enough. The guild ran in to some trouble on Vashj and these two leaders put their WoWing aside. With the core leadership removed from the guild, and a short amount of time left in my own schedule before I left for treeplanting I g-quite and rejoined the Nightblades. (I have recently returned from a season of Treeplanting in which I did not play WoW. My time with judgment was limited regardless of the loss of leadership, but because it was limited and this leadership lost, I removed myself from the guild) I am currently with the Nightblades. However, the Nightblades are no longer a raiding guild and never will be again. Such is their fait... 9) What you do think your strengths and weaknesses in raiding are? What aspects of your character are you actively improving? Please link a WWS parse for one of your raids, if you have one. One of my strengths is that I am an intelligent individual who is a quick learner. I don’t think it would take me long to get used to the new raiding content I would be seeing if I joined a guild such as Lexington. I believe that I understand how the game works fairly well, and that I understand the role I need to play as a healer. Even more specific than that, I understand the role that my particular class of healer should play. In terms of weaknesses I think it is apparent after looking at some of my gear. I lack any post T5 raiding experience. Even though I raided T5 content for a while I didn’t see a lot of gear upgrades come my way. The good thing about this is my weaknesses in experience and gear can be easily reconciled and dealt with in time. 10) What is your raiding experience, both pre- and post-BC? No Pre-BC raiding experience. Post -BC Kara, Gruuls, Mag, ZA, SSC, TK 11) Why do you want to join Lexington in particular? Through the people that I know from Lexington, and what I have read on the Lexington forums, and from the opinions of other players regarding Lexington, I have come to the conclusion that this is the type of guild that I want to be apart of. From what I can tell Lexington is a serious about their raiding. I have talked to a number of members in the guild and have asked what would be required of me if I did want to join. While the commitment to raiding with Lexington is high, the rate of progression towards new content is also high with Lexington. Lexington seems to have a good mind about itself in terms of doing what is best for the whole guild, and not only a few specific and important members in the guild. All in all it seems like one the best raid environments to be in on KT. 12) Is there anything special about your character that we should know that would be useful for raiding? I am considering changing one of my professions so that I can make myself more useful is a raid environment. Currently I am JC and Mining. I am considering dropping Mining and picking up another profession such which might make me a more valuable contribution to the raid. 13) Tell us a bit about yourself. How old are you? Do you work or go to school? How long have you played WoW? Add anything else you feel is relevant. I am 22 years old. I graduated from University in the spring of 2007. Eventually I will go back for another degree. I have spent the last two summers treeplanting. Other than treeplanting I worked in a group home for teenage boys. This was an interesting experience in itself. It was definately a job that revealed a lot of insights that I would not have been able to get any other way. Currently, I have just finished my season treeplanting and am taking some downtime for myself to relax so I dont have a job. In terms of my WoW career, I started playing August 2007. I have been playing for a year now. 14) Please list any members of the guild you know that could vouch for you, and how you know them. Ondaguero, Ukyo. I know both Onda and Ukyo from the Nightblades. They are both very knowledgeable and skilled players and I have learned a lot about the game through them.
