It was the best of times

If we didn't have Talliara in guild i am 110% percent sure we'd be stuck on phase 2 of illidan. I'm going to have to disagree with this point in particular. Phase 2 of Illidan was a challenge to the healers and tanks and its insulting to the rest of the guild to say they couldn't do it without Talliara. Raiding isn't a solo game its a team game and no one person has ever pushed us through any encounter. Full credit needs to go to Saedi, Zrathorn, Silve and the healers for getting us though that phase. I think its ridiculous to say that we would have stuck ourselves there forever because of the loss of one person. Also everyone in this guild does theorycraft, its is ridiculous to say that a Brutallus kill was because of any particular persons theorycrafting. EVERYONE put the effort in to kill the boss. A whole bunch of people were above or close to 2k dps and a number of them ranged. They did the work and brought the consumables and are just as responsible for killing the boss. Sure the loss of anyone of those people hurts, but that is what makes us a team. We worked together to get where we are and thats why the losses we are suffering right now hurt so much. We are a great guild and we progressed because of the team in every single situation. Its unfortunate we have egos now where we have people believing that the guild is progressing because of them alone. We once were a guild where we had a situation where people carried others through content and we suffered because of it. The progression we had this year was because we stopeed that and had everyone putting the effort in. Kills like Vashj, Kael, Illidan, Kalecgos and Brutallus were a team effort in every single way. I have put everything I have into this guild. I have sacrificed and tried to be a good team player because I view people in this guild as my friends. I'm more then willing to put the time and effort to be around for raids and get consumables because I want to progress with this group of people. Perhaps there are better raiding guild on other servers that don't get stuck in Sunwell, but the people here make this place better. Yeah we've had a tough couple weeks, but we will get through. I also think the vast majority if not all of this guild has the same attitude. People are using the right enhants and consumables in almost every case, and everyone is putting every effort in. Yeah the losses are tough to deal with, but we have had a damn good run this expansion, significantly farther then I ever dreamed I'd get and I expect we will do even better come Wrath.

Its unfortunate we have egos now where we have people believing that the guild is progressing because of them alone. I'm hoping this isn't directed at me, I have never said I was responsible for any kind of progression as a single person, because it just isn't so. I have never had an ego about anything I do, I have never claimed to be a great, or even a good warrior, or said I was better than any player, whether in this guild or in another guild, or even someone in greens.

Its funny how Kyt runs to your side to defend you. Because as I and some others know, you would definitely not do the same. You tried to get him kicked even on multiple occasions. I'm kind of disturbed by the fact that this thread has, on mulitple occasions, targetted me as an ally of talliara who has been backstabbed or a loyal member who is hated by the officers. If you have a problem with me, whisper me. If you think i have a bad attitude, whisper me. I don't want any problems with me to become public matters. Keep it private. If you think i'm determental to the guild, tell me. If you think my performance is lackluster, tell me. And most of all, don't lie and make up shit to put in public forums to try and turn people against each other. I don't know what's a lie and waht's not. If i'm being delusional in the fact that the guild generally likes me, let me be ignorant. I enjoy playing with you guys, don't taint the game by telling me my friends are backstabbing me.

No one is backstabbing you, Kyt. And anyone who thinks that their decision to stay in the guild is dependent on whether or not they get a legendary shouldn't be in this guild. And...I'm locking the thread.

This is going to be my last post in this topic. I do not deny that I said I would quit if we didn't kill Mag that day. Perhaps I would have even done it. Perhaps when Talisee had had his trial run with Exodus, and they had proven to be a really great guild instead of a bunch of people just like Lexington who only progressed because they spent 3x the amount of time we did on content, we would have lost him too. Perhaps if a meteor had fallen in Bod's yard a year ago, he would have gone outside to have a look at it, been contaminated by toxic vapors, gone insane and sold Lexington to some level 15 asking for a guild in Trade chat. If you want to compare the similarity of then and now, I think you're a little bit off track. By the time I said that, we had spent nearly three months unable to get past entry level bosses. Nearly three months of not even being able to kill Void Reaver and Lurker in the same week every week. Jump forward a year to now. We have killed Brutallus, which...what? Maybe 4% of the WoW population has done? The Lexington of early November 2007 and the Lexington of October 2008 are not even close to being the same guild. We have proven time and again that we are capable of getting anything done, whereas back then we had proven no such thing, and were really just a bunch of scrubs trying to get out of Kara, who didn't even have ten people who could click a cube on a tank n spank. The day we killed Mag, what I said was not some spur of the moment decision made after a week of bad raids. It was the last chance I was going to give a guild that had disappointed every expectation I had of it, for the sake of the friends I had here. We had killed zero noteworthy bosses, and could not even dent anything that required even a minor amount of actual strategy and coordination. I had expressed my mounting frustration for weeks previous. Don't compare yourself to me. We talked yesterday, and you said nothing about quitting the guild, or a 'last raid.' You did nothing but say you were frustrated, which is a given for anyone who has really had a vested interest in progressing. It doesn't make you unique, no matter how much you persist in the delusion that you were the only person who put in any real effort. Anyway, it is not your leaving I took an issue with. It sucks, sure. But you know what? It's your $15 a month, and you need to make sure you're having fun with that expense (this is true, despite all the jokes I make about being a complete douchebag and idiot because 'it's my $15 a month and I can play how I want!'). You are entitled to your opinions. I even agree with some of them, even if I do think that you blow the severity of the situation WAY out of proportion. At least you didn't lie and say you were giving your account to a friend or something. What I do have an issue with is the lobbing of insults at someone who has given everything to try and make this guild work, as you go out the door and leave him to clean up the shit storm that will be created by your departure. One last desultory 'fuck you' as you ride off for other pastures. Yeah, I do find that sort of offensive. Is it that obvious? But you know what? Good luck with whatever you decide to do. I hope you're happy wherever you land. And I really mean that. I don't wish actual misfortune on someone for leaving a guild, even if I think they have a bit too big a hubris (unless of course they do it in a really shitty way like ninja'ing the gbank or something that purposely griefs everyone else, in which case, I legitimately hope anyone like that gets hung on meat hooks by their balls IRL).
