the 1% figure is per physical dps, 1% for each tank, 1% for each melee, 1% for each hunter, and 1% for each hunter pet.
no kyt you would not see a 6% increase, and if you did everyone else would too because its a static stat, it would be the same as everyone elses. the people who would see more benefit are people with static or ability armor penetration, executioner, warp spring coil proc, etc.
325ap per physical dps increase is much more overall damage than 150dps loss on one person and 50dps on another, where contrail would lose 50dps to switching pets, he'd gain a decent amount back from the extra armor reduction, so the loss may not be even half that, or even better.
and as previously stated, the greater the armor penetration stack, the more dps increase there is. with executioner up i have 1170 armor penetration, which means on any boss in hyjal i'd only be attacking through about 830 armor with all the other debuffs up. and anyone physical dps wise with armor pen gear, or procs would see even higher increased gains since armor penetration isn't a static increase of dps like attack power is.
thats the other problem with trying to convert 800 extra armor pen to ap, depending on the bosses current armor it could increase ap by less or more, but overall the increase would be there, and again, would be approximately 1% extra dps to all physical dps classes.

as many of you know, i will be going arms once i get a good 2h sword, archimonde, zul jin or season 3. this spec gives a static gain of 4% dps to physical damage classes, which again include tanks, hunters, hunter pets and melee. when i do have the weapon to do this, i will be doing the math to take into account what dps i will be losing, and if the dps i lose is greater than the dps gain i provide, i will not keep the spec until better gear comes along and i can try it again.
same basic deal, when we feel like organizing a try of this setup lets give it a go, if after some averaging out you dont feel the dps gained supports your dps loss then drop it for the time being and retry it later. as we get more BT gear and people start getting armor pen as a static stat, the dps increase will increase.

Armor reduction of a level 73 boss attacked by a level 70 player is 37% for 6200 armor, and 42.17% for 7700 armor. Sunder Armor x5 is -2600 armor, Faerie Fire is -610, and Curse of Recklessness is -800.
For a boss with 6200/7700 armor, SA x5 gives a damage increase of 18.36%/16.61%.
If we assume now that the boss has SA stacked x5 on it, adding just FF gives a further 4.5%/4.05% increase, CoR gives 5.99%/5.38%, and with both on they give 11.06%/9.9% increase over just SA.
Armor Penetration is a bit more complex because it comes it varied amounts. If the boss has just SA x5 on it, then the effect of ArP is as follows:
100 ArP: 0.71%/0.64%
200 ArP: 1.43%/1.29%
300 ArP: 2.16%/1.95%
400 ArP: 2.91%/2.62%
500 ArP: 3.66%/3.3%
For a fully debuffed boss (SA x5, FF, CoR) the increase from ArP is:
100 ArP: 0.79%/0.71%
200 ArP: 1.59%/1.42%
300 ArP: 2.41%/2.15%
400 ArP: 3.24%/2.89%
500 ArP: 4.08%/3.64%
here is a more simplistic chart on armor penetration and effects of the armor pen debuffs that can be applied.
my previous math was just a quick in my head calculation, kyt was closer in saying CoR will increase physical dps by 6%. as you can see, on a mob with 6200 armor (all bosses in hyjal and quite a few in BT) CoR gives an extra 5.99% damage to physical dps classes, and 5.38% dps increase to a boss with 7700 armor which would be in BT.
so as stated in the above chart, with sunder x5, imp ff, and CoR the physical dps increase combined is 29.42% more phsycial dps against 6200 armor bosses and 26.51% more dps against 7700 armor bosses.
so a 6% dps gain for each physical dps class, tanks, hunters, hunter pets and melee, given this amount of a dps increase, contrail's dps loss from changing pets is going to be minimal, and the extra dps between the physical damage classes (on a normal raid is no less than usually 8-9) would outweigh the dps loss from CoD, or should at least.
and as you can see from the chart, the armor penetration from gear and enchants would make it even better, executioner proc alone with no other armor pen would be an increase of approx 7%/6.7% (6200/7700 armor) boss with sunder, imp ff and cor up, and still scales with static/passive armor pen on gear.
