Easy upgrades: The felstalker set (Belt, Bracers, Chest - you don't have to be a LW to wear it, just to get the set bonus), and the Aldor rep ring if you can get revered. You could buy a gyro-balanced destroyer or Don Santos, or farm rep for a Veteran's Musket as your entry-level epic gun. Lots of good hunter stuff comes from the 1st half of kara too. Definately get the Stalker's helmet of 2nd Sight from SMV, and a Mark of Conquest from hellfire PVP marks. I can make you felstalker as well as a few other nice pieces... kara gears less hassle then the mats for some of it tho.

BM is the best grinding spec, and all you'd really have to do is clean up your spec. Catlike reflexes/Spirit Bond/Endurance Training/Thick Hide are useless. When it comes down to it you should go 41/20. Pick up Improved Aspect of the Hawk/Improved Revive Pet/Improved Mend Pet/Ferocious Inspiration/Rapid Killing/Go for the Throat/Improved Hunter's Mark/Mortal Shots. The only other thing to keep in mind is that Aspect of the viper is awesome for grinding, and that is really the only aspect I'd suggest for grinding. S1 helm is an awesome pickup, and if you can itemize appropriately with the Relentless Earthstorm Diamond. Otherwise just follow what contrail said, and get the felstalker.
