hacked by Blizz!?!
all, I am currently at work with blocked access to wow and just got a phone call from blade saying that i came online then went offline, then back online again...he thinks i'm being hacked, so he got on my computer at home and logged into my account to kick the potential hacker off - he is then going on to the WoW admin site to change my password... if you happen to see me come online between now (2:00 pm EST) and 5:30 PM est - send me a tell and ask me what my nickname is - if you get the response of "DINDY" - it's either me or blade on my account....if you get anything else - it's someone who has hacked my account... <~~~ keeping fingers crossed that everything is all right.... ~ dindy **UPDATE as of 3:45 PM** well Blade got my password changed so i figured i would log into the email account that is associated with my account and i found the following love letter from Blizz... Greetings Wendy, Recently, an issue was discovered that allowed players to learn an unintended level of the Tailoring profession and recipes. In order to ensure that players are not able to gain an unfair advantage with the release of the World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King expansion, we have removed profession abilities beyond what is currently available in World of Warcraft. As a result, the following character has had its Tailoring profession set to currently attainable levels. Account Name: Character/Realm Name: Adindra/Kul Tiras Because these advances beyond currently available levels resulted in items which were usable by the characters involved, we are not offering reimbursement of materials used at this time. If you feel that you may have exceptional circumstances beyond this, please reply to this e-mail with information regarding the items used as well as the time frame in which this occurred. Please be aware that no actions have been taken with regards to your account status at this time. These measures have been taken in accordance with the World of Warcraft Terms of Use (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/legal/termsofuse.html), Section 5 Paragraph C, which details the acts that go beyond what is "fair" and are considered violations of the Terms of Use. Thank you for your understanding in this matter. Sincerely, Dauptia Account Administration Blizzard Entertainment soooooooooooooooo - thank you to all who helped with the cloth but it is now all for nothing as i'm back at square one.... /sigh ~ dindy

Damn, hope this works out. And hope you don't lose anything. :(

Well now we all know your RL name :D . But anyway, sorry to hear all those points being wiped away, it does suck when blizz leaves something in there then says "oops, sorry we didn't mention you shouldn't do that, but we'll just screw you over anyway. Thanks for playing world of warcraft! Enjoy the rest of your day." o well :(

ahhhh doesn't bother me who knows my name...i think a good chunk of the people that i was in Vengeance with already knew it... and yes - does suck...but luckily i hadn't spent too much on mats or anything - hell i got 6 or 7 of the 20 points i got just by crafting SR gear for people in the guild who didn't have it yet! catch you later, ~ dindy

I'd do a virus/spyware sweep and change your password frequently for a while, on the off chance that your toon being logged into didn't have to do with the tailoring regression. It would suck, but best to be safe.
